EVERY FIRST SUNDAY OF THE MONTH IS WHEN THE VAG STRETCH LAB GOES LIVE!! THE VAG STRETCH LAB IS A SPACE DEDICATED TO HONORING OUR SEXUAL SELVES, OUR PELVIC FLOOR HEALTH, AND FEELING MORE CONNECTED TO THE PORTAL OF HUMANITY—OUR VAGINAS. BY RELEASING TENSION, STRESS, AND SHAME IN AND WITH OUR BODIES, WE CAN ACCESS THE PLEASURE, POWER, AND PEACE WE WANT TO FEEL IN OUR BODIES! 

WHO IS THIS VAG STRETCH LAB FOR?

  • Anyone with a tight or hypertonic pelvic floor who has: vaginismus, pain with sex, vulvodynia, vestibulodynia, interstitial cystitis, adenomyosis or endometriosis. 
  • Anyone with signs of excess pelvic floor tightness like: frequent urination, painful periods, a sense of urgency with bladder filling, constipation, painful bowel movements, low sex drive, history of sexual trauma, pelvic pain conditions, or urinary incontinence with sneezing/coughing. 
  • Anyone who wants to prioritize pelvic floor fitness and vaginal wellness in a preventative way.
  • Anyone who carries a lot of anxiety or stored tension in their pelvic floor, pelvis, or hips.
  • Anyone who experiences pelvic floor weakness, vaginal laxity, or prolapse
  • Anyone who wants a deeper level of education and instruction from a pelvic physical therapist about: pelvic floor health, sexual wellness, and vaginal fitness. 

LEARNING OBJECTIVES FOR THIS LAB: 

  1. Breathing strategies to coordinate your diaphragm with your pelvic floor to help you release restricted abdominal muscles and overcome poor body image habits like sucking in your belly .
  2. Booty stretches that release stored tension and pain in common backside muscles like: your piriformis, your hamstrings, and your glutes. 
  3. Pelvic floor release exercises that help you to open up more and feel increased pleasure and decreased pain during sex.
  4. Abdominal and booty strengthening exercises to fire up your pelvic floor, strengthen your pelvis, and support your pelvic alignment.
  5. Understand the connection between butt strength, "gut strength" (abdominals) and it's relationship to bladder control, sexual pleasure, and vaginal strength/power.

The “Guts & Butts” Vag Stretch & Strength Lab will be a bit hotter and more intense than prior classes because a strong and secure pelvic floor is just as important as a relaxed and flexible one. There will be squatting, bending of knees, and some jumping involved. If there is ever an exercise that is uncomfortable for you, you can decrease your speed or pause to focus on breathing. This lab is also safe for pregnancy, pending your doctor has not limited your activity.
